Sid Hazell is Acting Governor General
Sydney (Sid) Hazell was last Monday 6 sworn in as Deputy Governor General (Acting). His swearing in was attended by Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Justice Frederick Bruce Lyle and Attorney General Judith Jones Morgan.{{more}}
An API release said that Hazellâs appointment became necessary since Governor General Sir Frederick was due to leave the state, while his deputy Monica Dacon is out of state.
Hazellâs appointment is expected to last for only eight days until June 13.
