It’s a household name, not only in this country but around the world, and hundreds came out to witness the re-opening of the brand name store called ACE Hardware on Saturday, May 8, on Bay Street.

The new and improved shopping facility now has over 5,000 sq ft of additional floor space and over 5,000 new products. Managing Director of the company, Coreas Hazells Inc, Franklyn Young, said he is very proud of the growth of ACE Hardware over the years. He praised the hard working management and staff of ACE Hardware and credited them as one of the reasons for the company’s success. {{more}}

Young said ACE started out as a relatively small company but has now blossomed over the 25 years. He said he expects continued growth and progress of ACE since the staff was trained to meet the needs of the customer, and the customer knows that they would get quality for their money. He also expressed gratitude to the many builders, architects, homeowners and customers who shop at the store.

The move to a more spacious and modern building received rave reviews from the many in attendance at the re-opening. They also expressed pleasure with how the items were creatively displayed on the various racks. Some customers however admitted that a few of the items were pricey, but said that ACE products were known for their durability and they knew that they were getting their money’s worth. The cost of the new facility is estimated at $4 million.

Coreas Hazells Inc was also known as Goddard Enterprises St.Vincent Ltd, Coreas Trading Ltd, Hazells Ltd, WB Hutchinson and Company St.Vincent Ltd and Coreas and Company 1980 Ltd. All these companies have been amalgamated into one company called Coreas Hazells Inc since 2003. Under this company there are several divisions, which include the building supplies, food, insurance and automotive divisions.

There are also some smaller branches like the city store while there are also operations in Mustique and Canouan.
