Vincy woman on coke charge

A national of St. Vincent and the Grenadines who arrived in St. Kitts on Tuesday at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport now faces charges for possession of illegal drugs. {{more}}

According to a police report, 38-year-old Joan Anita Pierre of St. Vincent was stopped and searched by members of the Drug Unit, the Customs and Excise Department and the Immigration Department on suspicion of having arms, ammunition and controlled drugs.

A blue bag containing a white powdery substance, suspected to be cocaine was taken into custody.

Pierre was arrested and charged with the alleged importation of cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to supply. She is in police custody.
