The decision was made at the CXC’s 35th meeting held in Barbados last week.

A release from CXC said the associate degree provides “a coherent programme of study intended to articulate with first degree programmes offered by institutions regionally and internationally.”

Officials at the local Ministry of Education are currently awaiting instructions on how to effect the various programmes, though it is expected that the programmes will be offered at the Community College.
