Government appoints communications consultant

The Government has appointed a communications consultant. Elson Crick, a former news and current affairs director with the St. Vincent and the Gren-adines Broadcasting Corporation, takes up the appointment for a period of two years according to the Association of Public Information (API). {{more}}

The release from the API says Crick will, “among other things provide consultancy services to the Agency for Public Information and other government departments who are involved in the dissemination of information through the print and electronic media”.

Crick will also be tasked with developing public awareness campaigns for specified government projects, the release said, as part of the government’s drive for good governance and transparency.

It further said that Crick’s appointment is designed to increase and improve the quantity and quality of information being provided to the general public and will ultimately lead to a better understanding on the part of the public, in respect to the work of the government.

Elson Crick, who last worked with Cable & Wireless, holds a diploma in mass communications from the UWI Mona, and a Masters of Science degree in International Economic Development Studies from the University of New Hampshire.
