The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) last week formally handed over its 8th annual scholarhip programme at a function held at the Old Public Library. {{more}} A total of 164 students benefited this year, 50 at primary level receiving US$300 each, 95 from 16 secondary schools US$640 each, and 19 Community College students US$1000 each.

Ambassador Elizabeth Chu reminded the audience that five Vincentians had gone off to Taiwanese universities and would each receive EC$2000 monthly. The ceremony also heard from Minister of Education Mike Browne.
