Special Needs students get Venezuelan grant

The School for Children with Special Needs received a grant from the Venezuelan Embassy here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. On Tuesday, Ambassador Tibisay Urdaneta handed over a cheque of $1,341.25 dollars to the treasurer of the school board, Kirk DaSilva. {{more}}

DaSilva said that the majority of the funds for the school comes from the business sector, along with government subventions.

He said the school was grateful for the support from the embassy and continued to urge the corporate community to contribute to the school’s development.

The grant, which comes as part of a special corporation fund from the Venezuelans, will be used to enable the staff to continue their work at the school.

Principal Ester Weithers, teaching staff and students were on hand to witness the donation.
