“The work of the Digicel Grenada staff is a source of enormous pride to Digicel,” O’Brien told the Digicel Grenada staff. “You have passed through a very devastating hurricane yet your commitment to Digicel and to Grenada has remained strong. Thanks to your tireless efforts Digicel was able to get vital supplies to the island, and our customers across Grenada are again experiencing the high quality of coverage and customer care for which Digicel is renowned.”

A Digicel spokeperson said the company has shown a strong commitment to helping rebuild Grenada following Hurricane Ivan, “working tirelessly to not only support communication needs” but also implementing relief efforts in order to get basics like food, water and medical supplies to the island.

Amongst their relief efforts, Digicel committed a contribution of EC$1 million to the Red Cross for hurricane relief activities. Thanks to the help of OECS shareholder, Karib Cable, Digicel staff were involved in helping get daily supplies of food and water to the island from St.Vincent.
