Minister of Tourism and Culture Rene Baptiste announced last Wednesday at the conference room in the Cruise Ship and Ferry Berth that cabinet agreed to a submission made by her Ministry to grant approval for the issuance of a postal stamp bearing the likeness of Kevin Lyttle and other Vincentians. She said that the approval was given on Wednesday September 1st.
Baptiste said that a number of stamps would be launched on Independence Day, October 27. These include stamps featuring former cricketer F.O Mason, footballer Ezra Hendrickson, coach and footballer Mori Millington and Elma Francois. These, the Minister said, might be ready for Independence and will definitely be ready for Heritage Month celebrations next March. A number of re-issued stamps would also be available.
The culture minister commented that Kevin continues to make great strides as he was a hit at Labour Day in New York, which was also attended by HS Phaktor, with Bomani, Singing Shaunelle, Madzart and Poorsah.
