According to the Ambassador of Venezuela to Barbados, Corina Russian Frontado, her government is taking a lead role in the eradication of poverty and extreme poverty in the hemisphere. “To achieve this goal the government has planned to reach social justice through the progressive incorporation of excluded social sectors. That means participation in the decision making process to incorporate the ones that are excluded,” she said.
The Ambassador further explained that “the governments of the hemisphere are committed to fighting against poverty, especially the alleviation of extreme poverty, which is essential for the promotion and consolidation of democracy.” She also said that social and economic development is seen as interdependent with democracy.
