Pierre to answer grievous bodily harm charge
A 42-year-old man has been charged with fracturing the skull of a 59-year-old man.
Kirwin Pierre is charged with unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm against Lovell Anderson on Monday at Campden Park.
Prosecutor Adolphus Delplesche objected to bail for Pierre when he appeared in court on Wednesday, because he was informed that the victim was still warded at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. He is said to be suffering from a fractured skull, the wound being inflicted by a cutlass.
Delplesche stated that Anderson was being closely monitored and that they are praying for him to get better. He said in the circumstances, he is asking for the defendant to be remanded in custody.
The Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne stated that she was not considering bail at that time.
The matter was adjourned to November 29.(KR)
