Caribbean Toastmasters appoint new Area Director for SVG
Motivational speaker and published author Karen James has been appointed by Caribbean Toastmasters as area director for St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
During her appointment, which will run from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, James will give leadership to all the islands of SVG (Area 20), which for the last five years had been divided into two areas.
James, who joined Toastmasters in April 2011, is the founder and charter president of the Mustique Professionals Toastmasters Club; a former member of the Les Chalk Toastmasters Club, Barbados; and a member and the immediate past president of the Achievers Toastmasters Club, the inaugural Club of SVG.
James, who holds the designations of Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG) and Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB), said joining Toastmasters was one of the smartest decisions she has ever made. She accredited the prestigious organization for realizing her dreams of becoming a motivational speaker and writer.
As area director, she hopes to raise greater awareness of the benefits and affordability of Toastmasters. She believes, despite its credibility and benefits, Toastmasters remains one of the best kept secrets in SVG.
The new area director is also Marketing and Advertising Sales executive at Interactive Media Limited, publishers of Searchlight.
