Petra-Ann Gumbs pushing to realize her dreams

Petra-Ann Gumbs’ parents, John and Beatrix Gumbs of Vermont, like many other Vincentian parents, instilled in their children that education is vital for self-elevation. Petra-Ann, like her brothers Akeem and Petrus Gumbs, adhered to this ethic. However, unlike her siblings, who were drawn to computer science, Petra-Ann deviated to the health care field.

Petra-Ann left her picturesque home of St Vincent and the Grenadines in 2013 to pursue an education in the medical field. After a hectic four years of study, she graduated from St Scholastica University in Duluth, MN, USA, with a Bachelor of Science degree, along with a minor in psychology. This is just the beginning for her, as her next step is to become a doctor of anaesthesiology. Petra-Ann is thankful to God, her family and friends for their never-ending support.
