Vee Jay’s Restaurant celebrates its 40th anniversary

V ee Jay’s Restaurant, which marks its 40th year in business on November 30, 2017, will host the first of several activities to mark the milestone on April 30, when Apothic will be held.

“Forty years is a significant achievement and we think it deserves an appropriate celebration. We think we should celebrate accordingly for the entire year,” proprietor of the restaurant Julia Richardson told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday.

Apothic, a party featuring Becket and Skinny Fabulous alongside K-netic, will be held at the Cruise Ship Terminal from 8 p.m.

That activity will be followed by a formal media launch of the 40th anniversary celebrations in May; then in June, Vee Jay’s will launch a new product.

In July, during Vincy Mas, patrons can look forward to Vee Jay’s sumptuous J’Ouvert morning breakfast, while in August, an All Stars Soccer match will be held.

The company recognizes that they could not have succeeded without the support of the public, so in August, a school scholarship will be launched, while in September, the homeless will be fed.

Vee Jay’s restaurant was founded on November 30, 1977, by an ambitious young entrepreneur with a true zeal for “good food.”

Starting off then as a small snackette in Paul’s Avenue, Vee Jay’s quickly developed a reputation for quality food and service, but even more than this, for patrons, Vee Jay’s truly felt like home. Since then, the business has successfully expanded into two branches: Downtown Kingstown and “Prime Lime” in Arnos Vale; and has truly come to develop the title of “A true taste of St Vincent.”

The restaurant will host a grand finale of activities, to be held from November 23 to 30.
