Vermont woman wants man to pay for slashing her

Samara Joseph of Vermont is wondering when she will get justice in relation to wounds she received on December 29, 2016.

According to the mother of two, on the day in question, she was at her Vermont home when she was stabbed in her stomach by a man she knew and had to be rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), where she underwent emergency surgery.

According to Joseph, after the surgery, she remained in hospital for nine days and was told by doctors

that the knife had penetrated her stomach and punctured her liver and appendix. She said that doctors repaired her internal organs.

“I carry back the doctor report so long and I never heard anything about when I suppose to come to court or anything,” said Joseph on Monday, while sitting in SEARCHLIGHT’s office.  

She said that since stabbing her, the man continues to torment her and on Monday she went to the Family Court, where she managed to get a restraining order against the man.

“He stab me in my stomach in front everyone and I want to know if that is how in Vincy the system does move with woman. Up to now I ain’t hear anything about a court date yet,” cried Joseph, lifting her dress to show the huge scar on her stomach that she is alleged to have received during the altercation.

She said that the man who stabbed her is from Queensbury and that she almost died because when she was stabbed she was not taken to the hospital right away and as a result, blood came through her nose and mouth.

“The man saying his father have ranks. He still troubling me, so I had to get the restraining order,” said the agitated woman, who added that she is still fearful for her life.(LC)
