Top Hollywood Costume Designer To Host Film Career Lecture In SVG

One of Hollywood’s best known costume designers will host an informal lecture on careers in the film industry; with particular focus on students who have a concentration in the Arts.

On Monday, February 27, award-winning Penny Rose will headline the event, which is scheduled to take place at the Grand View Grill in Indian Bay, from 4 – 6 p.m.

The famed costume designer, credited with creating the costumes for all of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies has 40 years of experience within the film industry; and has been nominated for several BAFTA awards as well as an Emmy.

Besides Pirates of the Caribbean 1-5, she was the costume designer for 47 Ronin (2013), The Lone Ranger (2013), Unstoppable (2010), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), Entrapment (1999), Mission Impossible (1996) and Evita (1996) – to name a few.

She has also worked along with producers and directors such as Jerry Bruckheimer and Ridley Scott; and dressed actors like Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Madonna, Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta Jones, Keira Knightley, Nicholas Cage, and, of course, the incomparable Johnny Depp.

Rose will focus her talk on enlightening artistic young people about the possibilities available to them with regards to the film industry – an area seldom explored here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines – for career opportunities. She hopes it will be inspiring and beneficial to all who attend; and looks forward to an interactive audience.

Students, their parents, guardians and teachers, and other persons interested in learning more about careers in the film industry are encouraged to attend.

The event is free and registration is not required. For additional information, contact Alexandra Grant at alexsvg@outlook.com or (784) 533-6358.
