VINLEC Donates Stretchers To Local Red Cross
St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) has donated four stretchers to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society.
VINLECâs donation to the society is in-keeping with the companyâs pledge to reach out to the people of this country in ways that directly impact their lives positively.
The donation is also a show of support for the Red Cross Society for having partnered with VINLEC to provide training for staff. Over the years, VINLEC has been working with the Red Cross Society to provide much needed skills in First Aid and CPR.
This training is an element of the companyâs extensive Health and Safety work programme, designed to provide a safe work environment for employees.
In 2016, 29 VINLEC employees received First Aid and CPR training facilitated by the SVG Red Cross.
The company believes that this specific donation will help to keep people safe in case of emergencies, as stretchers are one of the most valuable items in a first aid kit.
VINLEC anticipates that these stretchers will be used to support injured persons and keep them still so that they would not develop further injuries.
The local Red Cross Society has been servicing the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines since 1949; and seeks to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering.
The handing over took place at the Companyâs Engineering Complex last week. Ms. Julia Simmons of the Red Cross Society expressed appreciation to VINLEC for the gift and assured that they will enhance the quality of service provided by the organisation.
