Venner Family Expresses Appreciation for Support

The family of the late Honourable Sir K Dwight Venner has expressed appreciation for the outpouring love and support from his friends and colleagues during the family’s time of bereavement.

In a thank you note on behalf of the family, Zinga Venner, daughter of the late Sir Dwight wrote: “We, the family of Sir K Dwight Venner, would like to express our deep gratitude for the love and support we have received through your messages, flowers, tributes and prayers during this time of bereavement. We find solace in your appreciation of his lifetime of service to the Caribbean, and we pray that his tireless efforts towards regional unity and progress will continue to inspire current and future generations to carry on working towards these goals.”

Sir Dwight, who passed away on 22 December 2016, was laid to rest in Saint Lucia on 4 January. Hundreds of attendees including: heads of governments and dignitaries from across the region and the ECCB Board of Directors and Executive Committee, were present to pay their respects at the funeral service which was held at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Castries, Saint Lucia.

Sir Dwight, who was a former Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) was born in 1946 in St Vincent to Vincentian parents Cecie Venner née Jacobs and Noel Venner.
