When the 17-member team from the South Rivers Methodist Primary School took the stage at the Victoria Park, it was the first public appearance for the group, the youngest in the competition.

The group, called the South Rivers Future Stars, had only been formed in December last year, as part of the Pan Against Crime initiative.

The pan side played a rendition of Winston Soso’s “Put your hands in the air,” with its music arranged by veteran pan man Ken Isles.

The band captain is Nashanta Fisher and Joehannah Hoyte the vice- captain.

The school’s category of the Junior Panorama was won by the St Vincent Girls’ High School, with the C.W. Prescod Primary placing second and the St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown third.(JJ)
