Rodriguez made the projection at Young Island, in an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on May 10, during a photoshoot and interview session with the eight contestants who are vying for the title.
According to Rodriguez, entertainment at the show will be done by an all local cast. She added that the programme for the show has already been authorized by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC).
âI expect our girls to do really, really well this year. They have been working hard since January and we have given them time to practise their talents and the other areas of their appearances…,â she added.
Rodriguez stated it was for that main reason why they cut down on some of their usual activities.
According to Rodriguez, training for the girls commenced in January, rather than in 2013.
âLast year we had started early, but this year, we started in January because we found when we started that early, I donât know if the girls got tired. We donât know what was the problem, so we went back to starting training in January and then we launched them at the official launch of Vincy Mas,â Rodriguez stated.
A total of 12 persons applied to enter the show and after it was explained what is expected of them, Rodriguez said some of them dropped out.
âIt is not a joke pageant. It is a lot of hard work, both physically and emotionally,â she added.
Out of the 10 hopefuls that remained, eight finalists were chosen.
