Four to battle for Miss CYEN Earth Princess
A pageant whose objective is to educate persons about the environment and how to re-use and re-cycle materials will be held tomorrow.{{more}}
In commemoration of Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22 each year, the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) will host St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ first ever Miss CYEN Earth Princess Pageant 2014.
A release from the organizers said the pageant, which will be held at the Brighton Primary School from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, also seeks to promote creativity and confidence in the contestants, and has the full support of the Ministry of Education.
The contestants are K-andra Nanton – Miss Earth of the Calder Primary School; Oriscia Arthur – Miss Water of the Brighton Methodist Primary School; Arianna Wyllie – Miss Air of the Stubbs Primary School and Jada John – Miss Sunshine of the Fair Hall Primary School.
Some of the featured guest performances include Madzart, Lady Diya and many more. Tickets would be sold at the gate and the entrance fee is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
The theme for Earth Day 2014 is âGreen Cities.â
The Caribbean Youth Environment Network St Vincent and the Grenadines (CYEN-SVG) Chapter is a non-profit body geared towards empowering young people to take a positive stance to tackle, socio-economic and environmental issues, such as poverty alleviation, health, climatic changes, and the preservation of natural resources.
CYEN-SVG extends sincere gratitude to LIME, Right Stuff, Coreasâ City Store, Renaissance Creations, Sports locka Plus, Photo Max, the Ministry of Education, the St Vincent Brewery, the National Youth Council and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Womenâs Council for their contribution to the Miss CYEN Earth Princess Pageant 2014. They also extend their appreciation to the general public for their continued support.
