Miss Heritage pageant hopefuls visit GHS
With the show just around the corner, the contestants in the Scotia Bank National Secondary Schools Miss Heritage pageant, have been visiting various schools to promote the event.{{more}}
Last Friday morning during school assembly, the seven young ladies graced the students of the Girlsâ High School (GHS) with their presence and invited the school body to attend the pageant on October 19.
The teenagers, who are slated to cross the stage on that night at Victoria Park are Mililone Edwards of the West St George Secondary School, Sharikah Rodney of St Josephâs Convent Kingstown, Nia Grecia of the Intermediate High School, Crystel-Lyn Browne of the Bequia Community High School, Kia May of the Sandy Bay Secondary School, Terreka Nero of the Buccament Bay Secondary School and Lateefa Noel of the Girlsâ High School.
As the smartly dressed contestants delivered their speeches with eloquence and poise, the GHS student body cheered loudly for their favourites.
During the assembly, a special ceremony took place, during which Miss Heritage 2011, Anya Frederick, was awarded with the âQueenâs Crownâ by her former headmistress, Andrea Bowman.
On October 19, Frederick will crown this yearâs pageant winner with the same elaborate, silver crown.
In short remarks, Miss Heritage 2011 invited the students from her alma mater to attend the show.
Frederick also encouraged the student body to visit the Miss Heritage Facebook page to vote for the âpeopleâs choiceâ.
âIâd like to take this opportunity to invite each and every one of you to the Victoria Park on the 19th of October to the Scotia Bank National Secondary Schools Miss Heritage Pageant 2013 to see which one of these lovely young ladies will win this crown,â the radiant queen said.
The girls also made visits to the St Josephâs Convent Kingstown, Buccament Bay Secondary School, Sandy Bay Secondary School, the St Vincent Grammar School, the Intermediate High School and the West St George Secondary School on Friday.
On Thursday, all of the delegates visited the Bequia Community High School. (BK)
