Executive Producer Georgietha “Aunty G” Nanton says that this season, viewers of the programme, which airs at 8:30 p.m., can vote by texting from their cell phones, which she said has been made possible thanks to the show’s major sponsor Digicel.

Nanton added that the person casting the most votes at the end of the season will receive $500.

Other sponsors of the show include Gonsalves Liquors, Courts St Vincent Ltd, St Vincent Brewery, Sunsail, the Boat Club, Ferdie’s Footsteps, Flasher’s Bakery and Grocery, Queen and Princes Boutique and SVG Broadcasting.

Nanton pointed out that the second major change to the show is the fact that the show will visit various karaoke houses around St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The first show was filmed at Jasmine’s Bar in Georgetown, with tonight’s episode to be filmed at the Octagon in Diamond.

Other venues to be visited include Vibes Caribbean on February 14, Maggie’s Hideout in Layou, Miller’s Bar in Sandy Bay, and venues in Colonarie, Richland Park, and in the Grenadines.

“With Singing with the Stars, patrons come out and have fun singing with their favourite artistse. The people who are there at the venue will select who will sing on the television show, then the whole of St Vincent and the Grenadines get in on the fun by texting for the person who they think performed the best,” Nanton said.

“We will then have a semi-final encounter, followed by the finals, where the winner takes all. This includes $1,000, a trophy, dinner for two and a brand new cell phone.”
