The event in New York showcased Lunaâs spring and summer 2013 collection and some designs by Baptiste, Lunaâs assistant designer.
âI had a hand in every decision that was made, and that was more than I could have ever hoped for,â Baptiste told SEARCHLIGHT.
âIt was great working with Vik. He respected my opinions and gave me the opportunity to express my creativity … He is truly a great person and designer.â
Baptiste said working with the Mexican-American designer felt like âa partnerâ and was not like an internship.
She said the experience was exhausting and saw her working seven days a week but âwas completely worth itâ.
âIt was a priceless experience,â the Miss SVG 1999 and designer of award-winning gowns for that event said.
She further said that for the first time, she was involved in creating pieces for men (four of the 14 pieces to be showcased).
Baptiste also said that men in St Vincent could expect her to be creating for them when she returns.
She said she was thankful to Luna and the models for their support and that she intends to learn as much as possible before returning home.
