âThe crowd was similar as the one we had last year. It basically reflected at the gates. We offer pay-per-view and much people decided to stay home and look at it, but the takings at the door didnât drop by much…,â he stated.
He admitted that there would always be a competitive aspect once Gamal âSkinny Fabulousâ Doyle and Delroy âFiremanâ Hooper are in the show. However, with one of them, Fireman, being absent, Wood said it presented an opportunity for someone else to shine.
âWe seeing Fya Empress shining this year. The CDC will always want all of its top acts to be a part of Soca Monarch or any competitive show we are having, but they themselves, they might decide they not competing and we have to respect that,â he added.(KW)
