17 up against ‘Fire’ for Soca Monarch crown
Despite the recent uproar of soca artistes demanding an increase in appearance fee and prize monies, the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) has announced the names of the 17 finalists to compete against the reigning Monarch, Delroy âFiremanâ Hooper, at the highly anticipated event, scheduled for Saturday, July 7, at the Victoria Park.{{more}}
In a release dated Friday, June 22, the CDC revealed the names of the artistes and their songs. Among the names on the list are former monarchs, as well as several new comers.
