This is the third time the artiste will be competing, and speaking to SEARCHLIGHT about preparations for the show, Queen B said she feels like the underdog going up against some of the more experienced artistes such as Fire Empress, Madzart, Skarpyon and Shaunelle Mc Kenzie.
She, however, feels confident that she has a chance of winning the crown with her ââNice and Sweetâ hit.
âWinning is pretty easy to do for anybody, based on the criteria, especially for me. When I looked at the judging criteria and what they are looking for, I am confident that I can score heavily in all the categories,â she noted.
Queen B also revealed that at first, she was worried about the crowd response, because she is not one of the more popular artistes, but she is now more at ease knowing that crowd response is not high on the judging criteria.
With regard to preparations, she said that things are progressing well, as her props are being made and all the other necessary preparations are presently taking place.
âSo, all I have to do this coming week is practice, practice, practice,â she added.
Queen B is also one of the twenty-two Calypsonians who will clash tonight at the Victoria Park, in the Calypso Semi-Finals.
âYep, Iâm very confident about that as well. Iâve been practicing a lot and I am very happy with the content of my song this year. Itâs a good song, a strong song that can relate to the females out there,â she said.
The name of her song for the Calypso semi-finals is âMy worst enemyâ and according Queen B, the song speaks about âWomen who mess up each other.â (AA)
