In an exclusive interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, Franklyn, who was sponsored by Mustique Co. Ltd, said she is content with the results of the pageant and feels satisfied with her performance.

She, however, noted that there are some persons who may disagree with the outcome of the show, but a decision has been made and persons need to accept that.

“I worked hard and I am very pleased. A lot of people, they are criticizing, but at the same time, Carice has been crowned and they need to realize that she will be representing St Vincent. So all the bad comments they are saying about her, basically, it is as though they are in the process bringing down St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“I just need them to stop with all this criticism, because we are all Vincentians. We, the contestants, don’t even have anything going on and it’s sad that the public have bacchanal going on, when the contestants themselves don’t have that,” Terranza stated.

The 20-year-old Cane Grove, Chateaubelair resident also congratulated the other contestants for their efforts and expressed appreciation to them for the teamwork throughout the pageant.

“I have to congratulate all the girls, because they worked hard. Persons may not know how hard they all worked.

“Shanique was sick that night and a lot of people criticized her and I am so proud of her, because even though she fell, we were all there for her…” Terranza added.

Despite not winning the crown, Terranza said she enjoyed herself and it was a “great night” for her.

“I was always telling myself that if I don’t win that title I would love to be outstanding, because I think that itself is more rewarding to me, even though I don’t wear the crown.”

Terranza, however, acknowledged that she was not fluent in the interview segment, but is still pleased that she answered the question.

“I had fun and that is the most important thing. I know that some persons expect me to be disappointed, but I’m not, because the encouragement I got on the night of the show until now is overwhelming.

“I have to participate in other pageants in the region, so I know exactly what I have to work on and that is my fluency and that is what I will be working on for other pageants as well,” she concluded.

Already, Terranza says she has been contacted to participate in another regional pageant, but is unsure if she will.

She said plans are in place for her to further her studies as a Certified General Accountant, commencing next year, hopefully in Canada.

Terranza won the Best Evening wear, Best Swimwear and Best Talent titles, in addition to the Miss Photogenic and Miss Community Spirited titles, which carry no points.

Last Saturday’s pageant was won by Miss Lime Carice Glasgow, who won the Best Interview award. Second runner-up was Jovonne John, Miss St Vincent Brewery Ltd. The other contestants were Miss Super 6, Jolene Bentick, Miss Lotto, Shanique Browne, Miss Agricultural Input Warehouse, Kendra Homer, Miss Metrocint General Ins. Co. Ltd., Dieta Tucker and Miss Jergens, Aziza Williams. (AA)
