In her quest for the crown, the soft-spoken Pierre won two out of the 4 judged categories, including best talent and best creative wear. She also nabbed the Miss Facebook Photogenic award.
After all the congratulations and posing for pictures, the form 4B student shared a few words with SEARCHLIGHT. âI feel very great that I won, but I know I could have done better,â Pierre said. The aspiring fashion designer said that preparation leading up to the show was very hectic but paid off in the end.
Junica Duncan, also a fourth form student, took the first runner-up position. She also won the Miss Congeniality award. Another fourth former, Khadisha Smart, took the second runner-up spot, along with the best interview award. Best evening wear went to Chayna Foster. Chayna sashayed in a beautiful light blue dress, with crystals across her midriff that glittered in the night light.
Pierreâs sultry delivery on the microphone had the crowd singing along with her as she sang âStand up for Loveâ, a song done by former R&B group, Destinyâs Child. For her creative wear, Pierre came out decked in a brown paper bag material which l Continued from page 15
formed a strapless dress, with blue outer linings, complemented by a neatly tied bow around her waist.
To kickstart the nightâs show, the girls perfromed an exicting dance that only served as an exciting prelude of what was to come.
The eight beauties managed to keep the crowd in a rapt attention from the time they hit the stage, despite interference of the rain. The night also saw the schoolâs revived steel orchestra performing at the show. Other entertainment came from the Arabesque Dance Company, Maddzart and his Mad Symphony band, Fanatix and Shanelle Nanton.
Young and upcoming designer and student at the school, Godwin Charles, also showcased part of his female clothing line, which certainly received rave reviews from the crowd.
The other contestants were: Shannel Baker, Timnisha Mathurin, Staffeisha Richards, and Twana Clarke.
