Six for Miss Easterval Pageant
Will St. Lucia once again capture the throne at the 2010 Miss Easterval Pageant, or would Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines or Union Island wrest the crown for the nation this time around?{{more}}
This question will be answered on April 3rd when six contestants grace the stage at the Ashton Hard Court in Ashton, Union Island.
This year, St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented by 20-year-old Alverna Peters, while 18-year-old Isabelle Clouden will wear the sash for the host island Union Island.
The other contestants include Danika Haynes, 17, representing Barbados, 20-year-old Renee Marquez from Grenada, Michelle Alexander, 18, from Carriacou and 23-year-old Oneka McKoy from St. Lucia.
The Union Island Easterval was launched on March 14th, and runs until April 5th.
Apart from the pageant, persons are also expected to participate in a cultural explosion, fish fest, soca fest, sporting events, Jâouvert and Monday night mas.
Meanwhile, one local organization is already sourcing ladies for its carnival beauty pageant.
The Layou Sports and Cultural Association has made the call for ladies between the ages of 1 and 25 to contact them if they are interested in taking part in the event.
