The show, which will now be called Obsession, will be a mixture of mas along with some of the top female soca artistes in the region.
According to Candice Sealy, Head of Sales and Marketing at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Broadcasting (SVGBC), one of the eventâs leading sponsors, local soca divas: Zoelah, Fire Empress, Lady D will be sharing the stage with regional divas: Destra Garcia, Allison Hinds and Denise Belfon.
Patrons of the show will have an opportunity to come up close and personal with the artistes back stage by purchasing VIP tickets or winning tickets through call-in programs on HITZ 103.7, a member of the SVGBC family.
According to Sealy, 12 mas bands will be presenting costumes in the Sections of the Bands competition for judging that night.
Sealy said that idea of twinning the soca divas with mas was one innovative way to make the new addition to the Carnival calendar more interesting.
The following day, June 30th, another SVGBC sponsored show takes place just outside Victoria Park.
Dubbed âG Spotâ, another all female show is expected to make an impact at the Finishing and Furnishing Parking lot on Hospital Road.
Shaunelle Mackenzie, Shaunelle Nanton and First Lady will join Zoelah and Fire Empress at this event.
Colour coded tickets will allow single, double and triple patrons to attend this event, with special VIP tickets also available.
Sealy hinted that other surprises are in store for patrons of the two shows, with announcements to be made in the upcoming days. (JJ)
