WHITE WINE: This visitor had a ball at Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.
Garcia for all her years in the business seems to be a humble woman who takes none of her success for granted. She happily posed for photographs with fans and instead of sitting backstage opted to stand near the stage and take in the Vincentian music. Destra told the SEARCHLIGHT that while she knows most of the music and actually has many of the songs, this was her first real opportunity to see and hear it live, and she was impressed. During her set she showed respect and made mention of many a Vincentian artist. âMy Vincy side must be my creative sideâ, Garcia told the crowd, which reacted with shouts of approval. Her grandfather originally hailed from Union Island and later settled in Sion Hill, Garcia told the SEARCHLIGHT.
The Divaâs Ball signalled the end of the Hot 97.1 carnival shows, and Destra Garcia sent them out on a high note. (VM)
