Eight for beauty show

They are big … and beautiful and sexy – two other apt descriptions for the contestants of this year’s Miss Big and Beautiful show where a large package is lined up for next week Friday’s event at Club Marcomay.

Mechita Davis, Miss Southline Beauty Salon; Kizeah Gregg, Miss Pam Fashion; Kahalia Beache, Miss Queens Fashion; Lesly-Ann Brown, Miss Barnett Hair Fair; Melinda Prince, Miss Profess-ional Auto Repair Service; Nzingha Sergeant, Miss Blondie Bird and Friends; Diana Jackson, Miss Roy’s Inn and Saran Nimblett, Miss Colours Restaurant.

This year’s event will have an additional feature in that contestants will be judged in an intelligence category. According to organizer Pearl Williams of Beautex Interna-tional, the contestants are ready to show their stuff in a new section called Miss Intellect.

The show will have appearances from Miss Big and Beautiful Internation-al from Trinidad and Tobago and St. Thomas, while Skarpyon, La Gracia Dancers, Shannel McKenzie and Abuzah will complete the list of acts carded to perform.

The winner of this event will travel to St. Thomas in January to participate in the Miss Big and Beautiful International pageant.
