Vincy beauty tops in NY

Another talented Vincentian young lady recently won first place in the Miss Worldwide Teen Beauty Pageant 2004, held September 25th at Wingate High School in Brooklyn, New York.

Seventeen-year-old Nadia Horne, a former St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua student, charged ahead of the field of eight contestants representing countries from as far away as Nigeria. {{more}}

Nadia, who currently resides in the USA, is the daughter of Josette Sargeant and Ardon Horne. She also took the Best Evening Gown award.

She was sponsored by Blak Shuga Graphix, a New York-based graphic arts company owned by Vincentian Franklyn “Supadex” Richards.

The prizes for her stellar performance include return-trip tickets to SVG, a US$500 scholarship, and a modelling contract.
