Death in family forces Dr Friday to miss Parliament
LEADER OF THE Opposition and President of the New Democratic Party (NDP) Dr Godwin Friday travelled to Canada yesterday to attend the funeral of a close family member.
As a result of this unscheduled trip, Dr Friday was not present in Parliament yesterday. St Clair Leacock, Vice President and Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown is acting as President of the NDP in the absence of Dr Friday, a release from the NDP said.
Friday is expected to be out of state until May 10.
The Executive, Central Committee and other members of the NDP express their condolences to Dr Friday and his family.
