The last of a generation of the Francis family passed away peacefully in England on November 1, 2015.
Cuthbert Francis, often known a âCutieâ, was the brother of Sylvester, Peter, Joseph (Joe), Sebastian (Bas), Emmanuel (Manie) and Bruno, plus sisters Vickie, Martie and Violanthe, all of whom were born and raised in Park Hill, St Vincent.
Born in 1924, Cuthbert went “sailing” in 1942, in common with many Vincentians of his generation, and eventually landed in England, where he found work and a wife, to whom he was married for an amazing 67 years!
Cuthbert returned to SVG on many occasions, always accompanied by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who learned of their Vincentian roots.
His cheerful personality made him popular in the Hove and Brighton area of England, and many Vincentians gravitated to this area because of him.
He is sadly missed by his beloved wife, Val, his children Maria and Linda, and numerous grandchildren, plus many, many nieces and nephews in SVG and throughout the world. His burial will be in England.
