I don’t know what my friend’s problem is

Hey Rosie,

I am in my early twenties and I am having some problems, being bullied by a friend from high school. I don’t know what the problem is, but she would text me and start fights for no reason. I try to be decent and courteous to her, but she would say that I am selfish and nasty.

I’ve said that maybe we should give each other space, but she then says I am not a true friend because I don’t want to fight for the friendship. I would then suggest places to go and hang out and she would say that I never consider her when I pick places! Rosie, she is tiring and I would like to call it quits! Should I?{{more}}

About to cut her off!

Dear About to cut her off,

Well, let me say that I was tired with the mind games based on your letter. That is just crazy!

Friendships would have their ups and downs, but this is more of a power struggle or a need to control. I don’t like that!

Look, we sometimes outgrow people and friendships can die like everything else. If you are tired and you don’t think this is worth it to you, then put it to rest. Let her know you wish her the best, but you don’t think you want to be friends any more. Grieve it and move on. No one needs this kind of drama; really, no one does. Good luck with your decision.
