Whenever my girlfriend does not get her way, she wants to fight me

Hey Rosie,

I have a really violenT girlfriend. If she doesn’t get her way, she wants to fight me.

I try to walk away, but she jumps up and blocks me from leaving. Many times I have to physically remove her from my way so I can leave. She gets like this because she is jealous of my co-workers, old school friends, even some of my cousins and when I talk to my own mother.{{more}} Once she sent a group text to some women she didn’t want me being friends with to tell them to stop talking to me. I think I have had enough. Should I go or stay? She can be so sweet sometimes; what should I do?

Confused

Hello Confused,

Let me tell you this right away; leave! You do NOT have to put up with this type of dangerous and immature behaviour, she should get it together by herself first before she has any type of serious relationship.

When a woman, or a man for that matter, is giving their partner grief about talking to their mother, you know that is a BIG RED FLAG! That person has serious control and self-esteem issues. They must seek help for themselves first, before they try to be with someone else.

Then, most importantly, no one should ever be hitting or physically harming another person. This goes again for both men and women; she has to come to terms with the fact that she has some emotional issues to deal with – you can NOT help her at all. Also, don’t get pulled into the “she is so sweet” bit. Let her take her “sweet” self and get help. Walk away and I have to say that you seem to have handled yourself quite maturely by knowing that you should walk away when someone is behaving like this. This issue is all hers and she should seek professional help to get to the bottom of this type of rage.
