VINSA tops 2025 ICC awards at UWI Cave Hill Campus

AZAR WILLIAMS, President of the Vincentian Students Association (VINSA), is on cloud nine after the club’s sweeping success last week Saturday, April 12, 2025, of the Island/ Country Association award ceremony.

“We did anticipate the award because we worked really hard this year. The feeling is very good, we’re feeling very excited—really proud. We know the kind of work we put in as an association,” Williams said.

The ceremony was held by the Inter- Club Committee (ICC) where the Students’ Guild at The UWI Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, voted that VINSA deserves the Island/Country Association award for the academic year 2024-25.

In a SEARCHLIGHT interview, Williams reflected on receiving the top award; Island/Country Association, describing it as both exciting, and a validation of the team’s hard work.

“When we started, we knew we had a very strong team with many talents and skill sets,” the president said. “Cohesion was something we worked on from the inception, and that’s something we always pride ourselves on,” Williams stated.
