DJ Kano, charged with attempted murder of his wife, granted bail

A popular DJ was granted bail in the sum of $15,000 for allegedly attempting to murder his wife by inflicting cuts about her body.

Rohan ‘DJ Kano’ Cornwall appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Senior Magistrate, Colin John yesterday, March 24, 2025, where he was charged that on March 20, 2025 at Green Hill with intent to commit the offence of murder on Gailann Walters-Cornwall, he did an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence.

The charge was laid indictably, so Cornwall was not required to plea to the offence. Prosecutor, Renrick Cato informed the court that Walters was still at the Female Surgical Ward in hospital.

He asked that the matter be adjourned to today, March 25, for a status update.

However, defense lawyer, Grant Connell told the court that Cornwall had been in police custody since Thursday, the day of the alleged incident.

He argued that Walters’ last medical examination was done on one of her fingers and that the prosecution can just call and ask about her status.

Connell added that Cornwall has sufficient ties to the jurisdiction, and argued that the court should grant him bail and impose reporting conditions, with a curfew, if necessary.
