Splectron launches VINCYflix
People who are interested in viewing original video content created in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), and aired on a professional platform now have the option to do so in the form of on online set-up called VINCYflix.
VINCYflix is the brainchild of local businessman, photographer and videographer, Regis Splectron Williams.
Williams told SEARCHLIGHT on Thursday that the online platform is the SVG version of NETFLIX that will supply Vincentians with content that includes all forms of entertainment- from gospel to secular events. He said he is hoping to add local game shows and reality television content, even as he hopes Vincentians at home and abroad will warm to the initiative.
A monthly subscription of US$5 will give persons access to all content, which, as of today, is available free of cost- but only for one week.
“We are going to have talk shows, game shows, stuff for elderly people, young people, all nature of persons we are going to have content for,” Williams told SEARCHLIGHT.
Splectron said that persons hoping to view the content can create an account at VINCYflix.com, adding that charges associated with access to the site is so that it can be further developed through the hiring of content creators, videographers, and entertainment industry professionals.
“I tried to have investors, but for some reason the Most High did not make that work out so I have spent close to $100,000 out of pocket…,” Williams said, while noting that the idea at first was to have a cable channel, but after the sale of Karib Cable to FLOW, the new owners said they could not accommodate his channel and returned the money he had paid to Karib Cable.
