Kingstown Prep dethrones Stephanie Browne to take Inter-Primary Schools Athletics title
The Kingstown Preparatory School emerged as overall champions in the 35th St. Vincent and the Grenadines Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championship, on Wednesday, March 19,2025 with a total of 276 points.
With more than 100 points behind, was the Questelles Primary in second place with 168 points, and in third place was the Paget Farm Government School which amassed 151 points.
Another Grenadine School, the Canouan Government, sat in fourth position on 140 points; while the St Mary’s Roman Catholic School emerged in the fifth spot, having amassed 130 points. The 2024 champions, Stephanie Browne Primary of Union Island, devastated by Hurricane Beryl on July 1, 2024, managed a seventh place this year.
The well attended annual Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Meet, held at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium at Diamond, also saw the Kingstown Preparatory School further establishing their dominance by taking the top titles in the male and female divisions of the Meet.Their male athletes garnered 115 points to win that division, while the female athletes amassed 161 points to win the female division.
Stand-out individual athletes were: Levia Cato of the Chateaubelair Methodist School, Under-9 female champion (20 points).
Treyon Cato of the Canouan Government School, Under-9 male champion (13 points).
Tiana Duncan of the St Mary’s RC School, Under-11 female champion (25 points).
Ellon Sand of the Kingstown Preparatory School, Under-11 male champion (24 points).
Odelia Compton of the Paget Farm Government School, 11-plus female champion (24 points).
Clifford Phillips of the Stephanie Browne Primary School, 11-plus male champion (38 points).
Tiana Duncan of the St Mary’s RC School was crowned Victrix Ludorum; while the Victor Ludorum was Clifford Phillips of the Stephanie Browne Primary School.
