No student fees owed to UWI- PM Gonsalves
Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves has dismissed an online report about Vincentian students being barred from writing their UWI exams due to financial issues.
The Prime Minister, who is also Minister of Tertiary Education sought to bring clarity on the matter, when he spoke on NBC’s Morning Cup programme last Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
The online publication indicated that students were being locked out of UWI’s portal as a result of unpaid fees.
Last Wednesday, Gonsalves told listeners that the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) said this was not the case; that the matter had nothing to do with “ the failure of the government to pay any monies”.
The Prime Minister explained that the CPO said “she had already processed everything” in relation to the Cave Hill Campus, Barbados; Mona Campus in Jamaica; and the Global Campus in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
