NLA Lotto records first sequential numbers win

The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) held its latest jackpot pay-out last Friday, February 23, 2025. It was the first time that the jackpot was won on sequential numbers, and one of the two persons who won the jackpot explained how she came to choose the winning numbers.

Nalucia Roberts said she saw the winning numbers- 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, in a dream and had been playing them for over a year, despite wanting to give up.

The other winner was Steve Charles, who has been playing the winning set of numbers over the last two and a half years.

Presiding over the short ceremony to hand over cheques to the winners, Product Development Officer at the NLA, Anthony Dennie, gave details about the jackpot draw which occurred on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, 2025.

Roberts, along with Steve Charles, had to split the lotto jackpot of $133,000, which saw Charles walking away with $66,574, while Roberts received $66,566. Dennie explained that this was because Charles had more numbers to bet with.

He said it was the first occasion in the NLA’s history where two winners won a jackpot on numbers that were called sequentially. Dennie said Charles had three bets; 1,2,3,4,5; 2,3,4,5,6; and 3,4,5,6,7; while Roberts placed two bets; 2,3,4,5,6; and 3,4,5,6,7.

Roberts recounted that she was outside her house on the phone, when the numbers were called. “When I went in, I saw the numbers come. I said, ‘hold on— hold on…you know I won the lotto!’ Then I started to say ‘thank you, Jesus’.”
