Mckies Hill man arraigned for murder of New Montrose Vendor

A Mckies Hill man has been charged with the 2023 murder of a New Montrose vendor, who was shot several times in his abdomen.

Lemar Isaacs, 23, appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Senior Magistrate, Colin John, yesterday, February 24, 2025 for arraignment.

He is charged that, with malice aforethought, he caused the death of 31 year old Mark Williams, a vendor of New Montrose at Block 2000 on September 9, 2023.

The charge was laid indictably; Isaacs therefore was not required to enter a plea.

Police investigations revealed that Williams was at a shop in Old Montrose/Block 2000 when he was approached by the gunman who shot at him. He received several shots to his abdomen, and was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for medical attention, but died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Isaacs is also one of the four men who, along with one woman are charged with the attempted burglary of the General Employees Cooperative Credit Union(GECCU) Office in South Rivers on July 16, 2024.
