Government looks to pump expansion dollars into AIA

Millions of dollars in capital investment are to be pumped into the maintenance and possible expansion of the Argyle International Airport (AIA).

Word of this came from Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves on Friday, February 14, 2025 at an unveiling ceremony which marked the 8th anniversary of the opening of the international airport at Argyle.

“This year coming, we have in fact put more money towards maintenance, IT system, CCTV, lots of equipment, all of this running into millions of dollars in capital investment in the Argyle International Airport.”

Gonsalves said the government has taken a decision to look at a master plan for the expansion of the AIA, done by Mexican Professor, Fredrico.

He explained that this master plan will be looked at and brought up to date, as there is “enough space” for the expansion of the Argyle International Airport”.
