CSEC, CAPE students to get $500 award for performance next Friday

Some 701 students who sat the 2024 CSEC, CAPE and Associate Degrees examinations will receive the annual $500.00 gift award for commendable performance next week Friday, February 28,2025.

A release from the Ministry of Education states that the eligible CSEC students must have gained five passes (Grades I to III) including Mathematics and English A. CAPE students must have gained passes (Grades I to V) in at least 2 two-unit subjects, as well as in the single unit Communication Studies (or Caribbean Studies) in two consecutive years. Students in the various Associate Degree programmes must have gained at least a B average. Teacher Education Programmes requires a GPA of at least 2.75.

The number of CSEC recipients amounts to 356; CAPE, 170; and those who did Associate Degrees, 175.

Of the recipients who gained Associate Degrees and are identified to receive the award from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, 52 are from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies; 62 from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education; 56 from the Division of Teacher Education; and five from the Division of Nursing.

Recipients of the award are required to be at the Villa Campus of the SVGCC at 9:00 a.m. on 28 February, 2025, with proof of identity bearing a photograph.
