Caretaker and son share warm memories as Paul’s Avenue senior celebrates her 103rd birthday

An outpouring of love flowed through Paul’s Avenue on Saturday, February 15, one day after the international day of love, when one of the country’s oldest celebrated her 103rd birthday.

Drucilla Primus officially entered the centenarian club back in 2022 and this year’s birthday celebration, as was the case with previous birthdays, saw a host of relatives, friends and neighbours making an appearance at her quaint Paul’s Avenue home where she has resided for decades.

Drucilla is the oldest living member of the Salvation Army and is currently recorded as one of the oldest living Vincentians.

During the day’s celebration, Drucilla was kept well entertained by singing and also was treated to sweets which were described by her caretaker, Alphea Charles, as her favourite.

“She eat more than me and you. She loves a lot of fruit. From the time she done eat her dinner, it’s back to sleep. She is a very fine good woman.”
