Seven pairs of twins at Girls’ High School

by Jada Chambers

“Are you twins? Can you feel each other’s pain? I prefer you more than your sister. Do you have twin telepathy? Why can’t you be more like your twin? You should know where your sister is, you’re twins.”

These are some of the questions and remarks that this group of girls are being bombarded with on a daily basis; but despite the highs and lows that come with being a twin, these girls love the idea of always having a friend.

Azriel and Aziel Boston; Jadea and Anya Abbey; Kaveisha and Keleisha Simmons; Chayah and Chay-Annah Charles; Freya and Blysse Trimmingham; Aniya and Amiya Antoine; and Kimiya and Kiniya Layne are seven pairs of twins who currently attend the St Vincent Girls’ High School.

Their unique bond can make their lives both easy and challenging. Being twins means that Aniya and Amiya get to hang out with each others’ friends, but it also comes with the responsibility of always knowing where the other twin is.

As for Blysse and Freya, being identical twins can be quite convenient for them in certain situations.

“Well I had a gate pass and I lost mine, so I can use hers and no one will know because we look the same…” Blysse told SEARCHLIGHT.

However, sharing a face exactly like her sister’s has not always worked to her advantage.

“There was one time I got punished for her crimes and I was so mad, and my mom just told me ‘sorry’ after, and then still punished her, and she had done it a lot of times…” Blysse shared.
