One dead, three in hospital as car flips in Gorse
An accident in an area known as Mangrove in Gorse/Byera has claimed the life of one man and resulted in three others being injured and hospitalised.
Dead is 19 year old Normanie Duncan of Owia Village, the other passengers in the rented vehicle are being treated in hospital.
According to a police report, a red Toyota Vitz, registration number RL868, owned by Elite Rental Services of Richland Park, was being driven by Elrico Patterson, a 29 year old Auxiliary Police Officer of Owia, when it ran off the public roadway and went over an embankment around 7:15 p.m on Sunday.
Duncan, an unemployed resident of Owia was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer while two other passengers, Raffique Hackshaw, 36, and Jovanie Phillips, 24, also of Owia, sustained varying degrees of injury and were transported to the Georgetown Hospital for medical attention.
